Student Requirements
for the Directed Study Program

1. The student
is required to find a supervisor who will be acceptable and approved
by CTS.
2. Each supervisor
must have a degree equivalent to or beyond the degree which the student
is pursuing.
3. The student
is required to meet with the supervisors for at least three (3) hours
per week for review and direction concerning the student’s progress
and comprehension of the course assignments.
4. The supervisor
will give oral review tests covering all of the subjects taken by the
student.
5. Each student
must call the Dean’s office and give a monthly report concerning
his progress.
6. Each supervisor
must call the Dean’s office quarterly and give a full report of
the student’s progress.
7. Each student
is required to mail all materials covering the subject matter dealt
with in each course of study along with the test grades.
8. Every student
is required to be actively attending church. A semi-annual report from
the student’s pastor concerning the student’s activities
in church work is to be mailed to the Dean’s office.
9. The program
requires a major thesis of at least 75 pages. The project must be approved
by the Dean. All theses must be turned in as follows:
A. Basic proposal
B. Outline of thesis
C. First draft
D. Second draft
E. Final draft turned in two months before graduation.
10. No student
will receive a degree without fulfilling all the course requirements
and graduation requirements as listed in the catalog.
11. All students
will take the Biblical language courses and one course of study at the
same time. After completion of the course of study, the student may
proceed to the next course of study.
12. All work submitted
to the seminary, courses and projects, tests, thesis and projects becomes
the property of Cummins Theological Seminary.
Academic Standings

Courses are completed
satisfactorily upon submission of the required projects, required course
work and passing the comprehensive examination covering each department
of study. This work will be applied toward the graduation requirements
on the basis of credit hours completed.
